Choosing a brand for your construction company

Color

Safety yellows and oranges are visible and energetic; steel blues and charcoal feel dependable. Pick one high-visibility color for your van and signage and pair it with a dark neutral.

Typography

Sturdy slabs and condensed sans-serifs look strong at small sizes and on vehicle wraps. Avoid fine strokes that vanish on embroidery and vinyl.

Common mistake

Yellow text on white fails contrast badly. Use yellow as a background or shape, with dark text on top.

Your construction company brand checklist

  • One primary color, used everywhere. Website, signage, social and packaging should all lead with it.
  • Text that passes WCAG AA (4.5:1). Use the text-safe shade of your brand color for links and small text.
  • A logo that works in one color. You’ll need it for stamps, embroidery, vinyl and fax-quality prints.
  • Two fonts, no more. One with personality for headings, one built for reading.
  • A written brand guide. Exact color codes and fonts, shared with anyone who designs for you.
